Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best regards and informs you of receiving the letter of the Federation of Saudi Chambers No. (43100224) dated (1/24/1443), a reference to the letter of the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization No. (243) dated (15/1/1443 AH),
Regarding the organization of the authority issued by Cabinet Resolution No. (216) dated (17/6/1436), and to what was stated in the third, fourth, and fifth articles of the regulation, which includes that the authority is exclusively competent to develop and approve texts of standard specifications and to publish these specifications in the ways that the authority deems appropriate.
And concerning the decision of the Authority’s Board of Directors at its meeting No. (170) on (21/7/1440) to update the technical regulation for electric vehicles No. (M.A. 162-17-04-03), and accordingly, this regulation was published in the Official Gazette on ( 12/9/1440 AH), and entered into mandatory enforcement on (16/3/1441 AH), and since the above-mentioned technical regulation stipulates that electric vehicles included in their field must obtain an electric vehicle conformity certificate.
Therefore, all car dealerships and those concerned with the need to obtain a certificate of conformity for an electric vehicle issued by the authority before entering the Saudi market, bearing in mind that the certificate can be obtained through the certification system (jeem1.saso.gov.sa).
